As the holiday season approaches, Ms. Massarsky’s 4th grade students wanted to do something to share the joy. So, Ms. Massarsky reached out to the Starbucks on McMullen Booth and Enterprise Roads in Clearwater and asked if they would give some coffee sleeves to her students to decorate with positive affirmations.
Starbucks staff was so excited about the project that they gave her more than 350 coffee sleeves. With that amount of positivity to spread, the entire 3rd, 4th and 5th grades were invited to participate.
Students and teachers enthusiastically colored the sleeves and provided messages like “You’ve got this!” “Be Happy!” “Live life in Color,” and “Give Much, Get More.” The sleeves were delivered back to Starbucks and handed out to customers who ordered a hot drink.
There were chuckles and smiles as customers read the messages. We are grateful to Starbucks for partnering with us for this activity. Kindness is a trait that is reinforced daily in Plato Academy classrooms. What a wonderful example of a word put into action!
