Sometimes even the most powerful changes can come with the simplest of actions: by starting with Hello! \nTo celebrate and bring attention to the mission we will have our Start With Hello Spirit Week! \nStart With Hello Spirit Week September 16th-20th: \nMonday\, September 16th Wear Green – a Green shirt with uniform bottoms.\nTuesday\, September 17th “Super Hero” Day – wear shirts with favorite super hero with uniform bottoms.\nWednesday\, September 18th Wacky Wednesday – “We are all different but still the same” … kids can wear clothes backwards\, inside out\, mismatched colors\, stripes with polka dots\, silly socks\, etc.\nThursday\, September 19th Favorite Shirt Day – wear your favorite shirt or a shirt that shows something that you love with uniform bottoms.\nFriday\, September 20th “Be Part of a Team” Day – wear a sports team shirt or a Plato spirit shirt with uniform bottoms.

Introduce yourself! \nBe the “I” in KIND – Wear kindness shirt and uniform bottoms! \n  \nUpstander Tuesday (Show appreciation to someone who reaches out and helps others) \nElementary students will get affirmations coins to keep in their desks/pencil boxes \nMiddle school students will get an affirmation magnet in their lockers. \n  \nWear Green Wednesday (Symbol of unity and solidarity against violence) \n“Don’t be Mean – Wear Green” – students will all get a green wrist band \nBingo Game– play as a group or individual class. The goal is to find similarities with classmates. \nStudents may wear green shirts and uniform bottoms. \n  \nTrusted Adult Thursday (Thank an adult for spreading the spirit of unity and tolerance) \nTreasure Hunt for Trusted Adults – students can work on the treasure hunt in groups\, as a class or as an individual. There will be clues posted throughout campus. DESCRIPTION:From September 16th-20th\, Plato Academy Tarpon Springs will hold their sixth annual Start With Hello Week. Start With Hello Week raises awareness about social isolation and educates students on how to prevent it. \nIn Honor of the Sandy Hook Promise\, Plato Academy Tarpon Springs will have themed days with small daily activities. Themed shirts should be worn with uniform bottoms. The students will be participating in a school-wide scavenger hunt where they will look for items around the school that align with the daily theme. House points will be awarded for students finding all the items on the list. \nWe will have a school-wide house event on Friday to celebrate the end of the week and share our experiences. Students 2-8 will meet with their House peers (mixed grades) from 1:30-2:15. This will give them time to participate in team building with their House mates. \n  \nIn Honor of the Sandy Hook Promise\, Plato Academy Tarpon Springs will have themed days with small daily activities next week. Themed shirts should be worn with uniform bottoms. \nMonday \n“Hey Day”\nWear a yellow shirt to brighten someone’s day. During car line arrival\, our faculty and safety patrols will welcome everyone with a smiley sticker to remind everyone to Start with Hello. Teachers will start the day with a class meeting that revolves around accepting everyone and establishing a community built on kindness. \nTuesday\n“Random Acts of Kindness Day”\nEveryone Wears Super Hero shirts. Channel your inner superhero for a day filled with ACTS OF KINDNESS! All Plato Warriors will be committing random acts of kindness to show our appreciation to each other and our school community. Students can plan their own or take an idea from the list attached\, which will be provided in homerooms. \nWednesday \n“Start with Hello Day”\nEveryone Wears Green! Use today to talk to someone new. Reach out to a classmate you don’t know well and learn about them. \nThursday \n“Promise Day”\nFind a friend (or a couple) to “twin” with for the day. Students will make a “promise” for the year. Teachers will provide students with a notecard to create their kindness goal for the year.
