SUMMARY:Greek Independence Day Celebration - (Plato Tarpon Springs)
DESCRIPTION:Come join us to celebrate Greece. So many things to do and see! You’re going to have a great time listening to students sing\, watching student plays\, seeing students in authentic Greek clothing while performing Greek dances\, taking a step inside our Plaka\, and tasting authentic Greek food! You will also have the opportunity to support the Greek Department of the school by buying beautiful handmade student items. \nIn celebration\, \nKiria Tina\, Kiria Chrisa\, and Kirios Ioannis \n  \nSchedule: \nDoors to the A-Building will open at 10:00 am\, with the program starting promptly at 10:30 am in the sanctuary. Following the performances in the sanctuary\, we will take an intermission to allow staff and students to prepare for their dances. Dances by 2nd and 3rd graders\, as well as\, a few 6th grade students\, will be in the courtyard area starting around 12:45 pm. (**Not in this order) \nDuring the intermission\, as well as after the dancing\, please take time to walk around our Plaka to view/purchase student work\, which will be located in the cafeteria. Purchases of items in the cafeteria are cash or check only\, and money received supports the purchase of materials and supplies for both the Greek and Art programs. Food\, drinks\, and desserts will be available to purchase from Meli’s and The Greeks. \n  \nParents with their Student may enjoy the following: \nMeli’s food truck with Loukoumades (greek donuts) & Greek Frappe to be purchased that day. Payment by parents on Friday. (Cash or credit)\nThe Greeks food truck with Greek cuisine to be purchased that day. Payment by parents on Friday. (Cash or credit) \n(The Greeks Menu includes Pita souvlaki chicken $13\, Pita gyro lamb $13\, Pita falafel $13\, Pita loukaniko $12\, Chicken tenders with fries $15\, Greek salad $13\, Chicken plate $19\, Lamb plate $19\, Fries $6\, Pita souvlaki pork $14\, and Souvlaki pork plate $19). \n  \n  \n  \n  \nStudents may still order school lunch on Friday. \nPlease Note: All students will stay with their teachers during the performances\, and then parents may sign their students out to enjoy the rest of the day. NO students will be dismissed before the sanctuary performances are complete. Our 2nd and 3rd-grade students can be dismissed after the courtyard performance. \n  \n  \nKindergarten\, 1st grade\, and 4th: All students should wear White tops (polo or button up) with Blue bottoms \n2nd Cott – all students\, 2nd Steiner – Girls & 3rd Grade – all students: Authentic Greek Clothing \nGirls: Please wear a white tank top with any non-bulky cotton shorts for easy changing at school.\nBoys: Please wear a white shirt with any non-bulky cotton shorts for easy changing at school.\nBlack shoes\n2nd Steiner – Boys: White shirt (polo or button up) & Blue jeans \n5th grade Dancers: White shirt (polo or button up) & Black bottom\n5th Grade Play: Bring sandals or white socks to wear for the play. \n  \n6th grade Dancers: White shirt (polo or button up) & Blue jeans \n8th Grade Dancers: White shirt (polo or button up) & Blue jeans \n7th Grade dancers: Greek Traditional costumes & Black shoes \n7th & 8th Grade plays: Students know what they need to wear for their parts. \n  \nAll other students should be in uniform. \n  \n  \nPlato Academy of Tarpon Springs Students Celebrate Greek Culture in Annual School Celebration \n \nGreek Independence Day Parade 2025 \n \n  \n
