Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics.

Plato Academy St. Petersburg’s Gifted class Middle School students love challenges so they applied and formed three teams. They competed in last weeks Regional Competition in Plant City with great enthusiasm.

The results made us very happy: The 8th Grade Mixed Team scored 1st place in Division II, Problem 5 and the 6th Grade Boys team came in 3rd place in Division II, Problem 2. Placing teams advance to the State competition to be held April 11th at the Orlando Convention Center!

Congratulations to all participants and their Gifted class teacher Ms. Patricia Porzig!
