Accreditation

Plato Academy Schools are Fully Accredited under AdvancED SACS/CASI

Plato Academy Schools have earned full accreditation for Corporate Systems accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools / Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).

We have worked collaboratively through a process of internal review and toward an intensive external review process. There, we successfully demonstrated compliance with 5 standards for continuous improvement. By earning accreditation from SACS, Plato Academy commits to its students, their families, the community, and colleges and universities that Plato Academy strives to exceed the expectations of a common set of rigorous standards.

What is AdvancED?

AdvancED is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that accredits primary and secondary schools. Using a set of rigorous research-based standards and evidence based criteria, the AdvancED Performance Accreditation team examines the whole institution of our school system, meaning our policies, programs, practices, learning conditions and cultural context – to determine how well the parts work together to carry out Plato Academy’s vision and how we meet the needs of every learner.

Why does Accreditation matter?

1) Promotes Relentless Pursuit of Excellence
2) Parents Can Make Informed Decisions
3) Shared Expertise and Professional Learning
4) Receive External and Objective Validations

TEACHING & ASSESSING FOR LEARNING

Plato uses multiple valid assessments to ensure the effective delivery of the schools’ curriculum. We regularly survey students, parents, and teachers and use feedback to improve parent/student satisfaction, school design and instructional delivery.

Resources & Support Systems

Safe and inviting facilities, leading-edge learning technology, nurturing student support services, and so many other integral components combine together to create sound learning environments where students can realize their full potential.

Continuous Improvement

At Plato Academy we utilize a comprehensive and varied assessment system that generates a range of reliable and useful data about student learning and school effectiveness. Those results guide continuous improvement of our system.

Cognia Accreditation

Plato Academy Schools have successfully acquired full accreditation under Cognia. The Cognia Performance Standards define the characteristics of a good educational institution and provide guidelines for efforts that will grow learners, teachers, leaders, and organizations.

What is Cognia?

Cognia is the national commission that awards the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), and the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) accreditation seals.

Accreditation Requirements

The current accreditation protocol takes six years for most institutions, and all institutions engage in three main phases of accreditation:

1) Self-Assessment
2) Engagement
3) Progress

Lastly, all institutions must pass an Engagement Review, which includes an in-depth exploration of the institution.
