Louis Kokkinakos is a local businessman with extensive involvement in philanthropic societies and organizations. In fact, he is President of the Foodservice Restaurant Partners Group and he has served as President of the St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church in St. Petersburg.
He is a strong advocate of the Plato Academy Schools and believes in an active Board dedicated to the Schools’ continued success.

John Petalas is a successful entrepreneur in various business fields, especially in catering and restaurant management. In fact, he is owner of the Seminole Subs restaurants. Additionally, he is strongly involved in the community and has expertise in fundraising.
As for his interest in Plato Academy, John’s son attended Plato Academy and he still remains very committed to ensuring that the Schools continue to provide a first-rate education.

Mr. Walker attended Eckerd College, where he studied International Business, and is the founder and owner of Walker Wealth Management. He was in the Leadership St. Pete class of 2021, one of the oldest leadership programs in America, and is a part of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Walker is committed to the growth of the St. Petersburg area and making an equitable difference in the community, and is the proud father of two Plato Academy St. Petersburg students.

Mr. Antonaklas is a retired law enforcement officer who graduated from the Cleveland Heights Police Academy. Additionally, he is a successful entrepreneur in the hospitality industry, and a licensed Florida real estate agent and the proud owner of George Antonaklas LLC.
Mr. Antonaklas is strongly involved in the community, is a Plato Academy Seminole parent, and has a passion to ensure that Plato Academy Schools continue to provide a first-rate education for all students.

If a parent/guardian wishes to request an appeal to a referral or has a concern with a school-wide policy or process, or an unresolved issue with a teacher or staff member, the parent/guardian must submit such a request in writing to the Assistant Principal or Principal within four (4) calendar days of the issuance of the referral, or within (4) calendar days of a specific incident in question. Failure to make a written appeal will forfeit the parent/guardians’ right to any further appeal hearing. Upon receipt of the request, the Assistant Principal or Principal shall acknowledge the concern in writing within 48 hours. If the issue is specific to an issued student referral, the Assistant Principal or Principal may decide to overturn the referral or refer the appeal to the staff behavior team.
If resolution is not possible after following the process above, parents should contact the Chief of Academics and provide details of the grievance in writing. Chief of Academics will acknowledge the grievance in writing within 48 hours and provide details of the process.

If the matter is still unresolved after following all the steps above, the parent may contact the Plato Academy Chairman of the Board of Directors via email.
If the Parent exhausts the Grievance Policy and submits the appeal to The Board of Directors, The Board of Directors will only consider whether procedures were followed and will not address questions or concerns regarding the appropriateness of a consequence.
Parents are advised to consider that all meetings of the Board of Directors are considered public meetings, and as such, any information shared with the Board is a matter of public record.
An out-of-field teacher is a teacher that is qualified to teach, but holds certification in a different area than they are teaching.
