Character Trait for March is Responsibility
This month, we’re focusing on the character trait of responsibility!
Responsibility means being accountable for your actions and fulfilling your duties. It involves making good decisions and owning up to mistakes.
Parents can teach responsibility by setting clear expectations, modeling responsible behavior, and giving children age-appropriate tasks. Encouraging them to follow through on commitments and praise efforts helps build this trait.

Dear Plato Academy Pinellas Park Families,
I am honored to begin my first year as the new Principal of Plato Academy Pinellas Park, and I am beyond thrilled to get to know all of you in the upcoming months! You are your child’s first and most important educator, and it is critical that we partner together to ensure your child is successful in school. For your child to be successful in school, they need to feel that school is a safe and welcoming place where they gain confidence, learn the importance in a growth mindset and perseverance, ignite a passion for learning, and have fun while learning and growing.
As a community of learners, I look forward to learning and growing with all of you as we work hand in hand towards ensuring high levels of learning for all children. For that to happen, I ask that you as parents and guardians join us in this journey as you are such a critical and valued part of the Pinellas Park Family! Again, I look forward to meeting and working side by side with all of you, and to partner if there is anything we can do to support your child or your family.

A Title I Schoolwide Program is a comprehensive reform strategy designed to upgrade the entire educational program in a school, so every student achieves high levels of academic proficiency.
Pinellas County Schools receives an annual allocation of federal dollars to provide supplemental resources to support student success at schools that have high percentages of families who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Federal and state law determines how Title I funds are allocated to eligible schools and programs. Currently, 85 Pinellas County schools are receiving supplemental resources which may include additional staff, supplementary instructional materials, and funds for parent/family events and activities.
Schoolwide programs allow staff in schools to redesign their educational programs to serve all students. The emphasis is on serving all students, improving all structures that support student learning, and combining all resources, as allowed, to achieve a common goal of 100% student success.
Activities supported by Title I, Part A funds must be planned based on a comprehensive needs assessment and developed in consultation with parents, teachers, principals, and other relevant stakeholders. The Local Educational Agent (LEA) must also actively engage stakeholders in continued consultation to improve supported activities.
Developing and implementing a high-quality schoolwide program is a systemic, effective strategy for increasing the academic achievement of all students. A schoolwide program will maintain the fundamental Title I principles including accountability and reporting of academic results, reform rooted in research-based practices, and school and community engagement and collaboration in the operation of the school.

For the 100th day of school, our students got a glimpse into the future by dressing as their older selves! A fun and imaginative way to celebrate this milestone, showing off their creativity and excitement about what lies ahead.
