Plato Academy Clearwater hosted the 2024 “Battle of the Books” competition where third-grade students from all campuses engaged in literary showdowns, delving into their knowledge of 15 books across two 10-round competitions. After a spirited morning battle, the victorious team faced off against challengers from the afternoon session.
Each participant showcased remarkable dedication, proudly representing their respective campuses. Seminole emerged triumphant, claiming the First Place Trophies for both the morning and afternoon competitions. Clearwater secured a commendable 2nd place in the morning battles, while Tampa excelled with a 2nd place finish in the afternoon.
In a tightly contested race, St. Petersburg and Trinity secured 3rd place honors. Tarpon Springs, Pinellas Park, Largo, and Palm Harbor readers also delivered outstanding performances, contributing to the overall success of the event.
Well done to all the students for working hard to become independent readers who really enjoy picking up a good book!
