Although seventeen years have passed since September 11, 2001, this is a date that every American will remember. It was an attack on American soil that took the lives of many innocent people and shocked the world. In the middle of this tragedy, this was also a time which showed that in times of crisis people can come together to help, support and do what is right no matter what the cost may be.
Each year on 11th of September old and young people join in memorial events across the Nation to remember the people who lost their lives and honor those who sacrificed theirs to save others during the evacuation efforts.
The young generations should also know about this event and Plato Academy Campuses held or participated in memorial events during this day.
Students of Plato Academy Palm Harbor paid tribute along with members of St Alfred’s Episcopal Church as they raised the flag and sang the “The Star Spangled Banner,” “America the Beautiful,” “My Country tis of Thee.”
Clearwater Campus students held a moment of silence at 08:46 am.
