On Thursday, December 6, the halls of “Seasons Assisted Living & Memory Care” facilities in Largo and Bellair were echoing the voices of students singing Christmas carols.
Fourth graders from Plato Academy Clearwater and their Greek teachers Mr. Aretis, Ms. Alimonos, and Mr. Benakis (piano) made once again sure that they would be present. This was a request during last year’s visit by the residents so how could they deny?
The seniors gathered with excitement to meet the students who sang with excitement a variety of carols in English and Greek and cheered them up. It was a meeting between two generations that has brought a lot of joy and maybe childhood memories to the elderly!
The owner of the facilities Mr. Eythymios “Tim” Kalyvas and his wife Marsha were present during our visit and didn’t hide their excitement. They also didn’t miss the opportunity to sing along with our choir carols in both English and Greek!
These field trips are very exciting for our students who enjoy the connection between school and community.
Our school students and staff would like to thank Mr. Kalyvas, the staff, and the residents at Seasons Assisted Living & Memory Care” facilities in Largo and Bellair for their warm welcome and hospitality during our visit.
