From September 16th-20th, Plato Academy Tarpon Springs will hold their sixth annual Start With Hello Week. Start With Hello Week raises awareness about social isolation and educates students on how to prevent it.
In Honor of the Sandy Hook Promise, Plato Academy Tarpon Springs will have themed days with small daily activities. Themed shirts should be worn with uniform bottoms. The students will be participating in a school-wide scavenger hunt where they will look for items around the school that align with the daily theme. House points will be awarded for students finding all the items on the list.
We will have a school-wide house event on Friday to celebrate the end of the week and share our experiences. Students 2-8 will meet with their House peers (mixed grades) from 1:30-2:15. This will give them time to participate in team building with their House mates.
In Honor of the Sandy Hook Promise, Plato Academy Tarpon Springs will have themed days with small daily activities next week. Themed shirts should be worn with uniform bottoms.
Monday
“Hey Day”
Wear a yellow shirt to brighten someone’s day. During car line arrival, our faculty and safety patrols will welcome everyone with a smiley sticker to remind everyone to Start with Hello. Teachers will start the day with a class meeting that revolves around accepting everyone and establishing a community built on kindness.
Tuesday
“Random Acts of Kindness Day”
Everyone Wears Super Hero shirts. Channel your inner superhero for a day filled with ACTS OF KINDNESS! All Plato Warriors will be committing random acts of kindness to show our appreciation to each other and our school community. Students can plan their own or take an idea from the list attached, which will be provided in homerooms.
Wednesday
“Start with Hello Day”
Everyone Wears Green! Use today to talk to someone new. Reach out to a classmate you don’t know well and learn about them.
Thursday
“Promise Day”
Find a friend (or a couple) to “twin” with for the day. Students will make a “promise” for the year. Teachers will provide students with a notecard to create their kindness goal for the year. Students are encouraged to place their card in a place where they can read it each day.
(All clothing should follow school dress code).
Friday
“Smile Wall”
Wear your House Color and celebrate the good times (and our PBIS Houses)! Teachers will hang smile boards and our Plato Warriors will be sharing what acts of kindness or actions that made them smile throughout the week.
