Message from the Plato Academy Schools Board Chairman Regarding St. Petersburg Campus

June 9, 2020

We are here for you

Plato Academy’s mission statement describes the environment of our schools as “fostered by a commitment and cooperative effort among the school, students, parents, and community.”

These last few months have been a challenge for us on many fronts. We wish to offer our families, caregivers, staff, and stakeholders the support and promise to be there for your needs. Our counselors, administrators, and staff strive to provide an inclusive learning environment, one in which we lift all equally to achieve their highest potential. If you or your family needs support, we are here; just reach out. Plato Academy is more than academics, and we are proud to support our families. Our commitment will always be to you.

As we proceed toward the 2020-21 school year, Plato Academy is preparing for a safe and healthy school opening by readying our schools and our staff for both a physical and mental health safety plan. As details develop, we will keep you informed. For now, let us come together as school and community to support each other and our students.

Have a wonderful summer!

PTO Update

Dear Parents, Teachers and Administrators,

While we continue to distance learn we want each of you to know that we are closing out this school year while planning and prepping for 2020/2021. We truly miss seeing everyone and celebrating not only the staff but our students!

Elections were unfortunately postponed due to the current situation so our existing Board will stay in their roles until we can vote at the first PTO meeting in September. All of the nominees have accepted to be a part of the PTO Board and will work throughout the summer to get next year ready.

Staff Appreciation Week happened last week and we know that our staff definitely felt special because of all that you did for them virtually. We have received emails from the staff expressing their appreciation for all the messages, emails, pictures, and gifts that they received. We were hoping to do one more surprise for them but we did not receive enough emails from Friday so we are holding off and hope to do something for the end of the year.

To follow up on our Annual Read-A-Thon we wanted to celebrate those students who went above and beyond. Our students got their read on and read 35,363 minutes over the course of the event…WOW! Our students also raised $3,460.00 which brought in $2,600.00 for the school. The money that was earned will be going towards helping the school set up next year in their forever home! Prizes for those students who earned RAT Bucks were delivered and will be brought to the school to be handed out when parents pick up their student’s personal items. We are sorry we were unable to have the class parties but the PTO is planning something special when we return to school to celebrate all the students who won and participated.

Our Used Uniform Sale sadly will not be happening as planned. We are working with the school to see if we can possibly have one before school starts in August. If you have uniforms that you were planning on donating please bring them with you May 27th & 28th during the pick-up/drop-off days. We will have a collection box ready to collect all those uniforms that no longer fit your student.

And even though we are not at school we are still here to answer all of your questions, listen to your thoughts or ideas for PASP PTO. And, if you would like to get more involved, please contact us. We continue to welcome any and all feedback and of course, any kind of help you can offer!

Dear Plato Academy Families,

I am so very proud to be with you for Plato Academy St. Petersburg’s seventh year. So many events have happened and will continue to happen this year. Our campus is an “A” school all because of the fine staff, students and families working together as a team.

Our team has created and continues to be motivated to provide our students the best education in a safe and nurturing family environment. Our students have many opportunities to participate in clubs and varied activities run by our fabulous PTO.

Here’s to another great year!
