Alumni Inspire Middle Schoolers with College and Career Insights

Plato Academy Largo recently welcomed back alumni for an engaging panel discussion aimed at inspiring its middle school students. The event provided a unique opportunity for students to hear firsthand accounts of college life and professional development from graduates who have pursued diverse career paths.

The panel featured five speakers, (two of them Plato Alumni) each representing a distinct field of study and career trajectory. Stefan Lukic, currently studying Business Administration at St. Petersburg College (SPC), opened the session by discussing the broad opportunities available in marketing and business. He highlighted the demand for graduates in his field and shared his own professional aspirations, complementing his talk with a short video showcasing perspectives in Business Administration.

Kaitlyn Hale followed with insights into her journey as a Physician Assistant, offering a glimpse into the rigorous yet rewarding path toward a healthcare career. Sydney Grey, an Accounting major at Florida State University (FSU), emphasized the importance of financial literacy and the growing opportunities in her field.

Kiera Boyd captivated the audience with her experiences in Entrepreneurship Studies at the University of South Florida (USF), encouraging students to think creatively about building their own businesses. Finally, Christos Giavaras shared his passion for dentistry, detailing the academic preparation required for this specialized profession and its impact on community health.

After the presentations, Principal Crystal Boyd expressed gratitude to the speakers and honored them with certificates of recognition.

This event underscored Plato Academy’s commitment to preparing students not only academically but also for real-world challenges. By connecting current students with alumni who have successfully navigated college and early careers, the school fosters a sense of possibility and ambition among its middle schoolers.

Plato Academy continues to set itself apart by offering enriching opportunities like this panel discussion—helping students envision their future while providing them with the tools to achieve it.

Thank you to Ioannis Giavaras for organizing this event and Principal Boyd for her continuous support.
