What a weekend! A group of Plato Academy students just got back from an epic trip to Washington, DC with Ms. Kendrick, our Social Studies superstar. They took off from Tampa on Friday and packed SO much into just a few days!
From walking the halls of Congress and snapping pics outside the White House, to standing on the steps of the Supreme Court, these students saw it all. They explored the Lincoln and MLK memorials, honored veterans at the Vietnam and Korea war memorials, and even visited George Washington’s house at Mount Vernon.
One of the most powerful moments? Placing a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery 🇺🇸-a truly unforgettable experience. They also checked out the Library of Congress’s famous reading room (so many books!), learned about Lincoln’s last day at Ford’s Theatre, and spent time at the Smithsonian Zoo and the Holocaust Memorial Museum.
The best part? Making memories with friends and seeing history come to life-way beyond the classroom! We’re so proud of everyone for diving in, asking questions, and bringing back stories to share.
