On Tuesday, May 16th, 8th-grade students, under the guidance of their Greek teacher, Mr. Yanni Giavaras, began an exciting journey to Tarpon Springs. Immersed in the rich history narrated by their teacher, they explored the lore of Tarpon Springs and the vibrant community of Greek sponge divers who call it home.
The day unfolded under the warmth of the sun, casting a perfect backdrop for their adventure. Setting sail at the onset, the students and their teacher ventured on a picturesque cruise along the Anclote River, where playful dolphins frolicked around the boat, adding a magical touch to the experience.
Their exploration led them to Anclote Island, where they unearthed exquisite shells, serving as cherished mementos of their memorable excursion.
After the cruise, their appetite was satiated with delectable Greek cuisine at a charming Greek restaurant, where they savored every bite of the flavorful and hearty dishes, concluding their day on a high note of culinary delight.
