At Plato Academy Schools, success is built on the strong connections we nurture every day. A recent activity between our 8th-grade and 1st-grade students beautifully highlighted this, underscoring the collaborative and supportive spirit that defines our school.
The activity was thoughtfully planned and organized by Ms. Olson, our 1st-grade teacher, who paired her students with 8th graders for a lesson focused on mentorship. The 8th graders, guided by their teacher, Mrs. Bart, stepped into their roles as mentors, assisting the younger students with the task and encouraging them to think critically and confidently. Both Ms. Olson and Mrs. Bart were excited to see this collaboration unfold and watched proudly as their students worked together seamlessly.
Captured by Ms. Olson, this interaction serves as a perfect example of what makes our community thrive: students of all ages coming together to support and uplift one another. These bonds create an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to grow.
We are proud of our 8th-grade students for embracing their roles as mentors and of our 1st graders for welcoming the guidance with enthusiasm. A big thank you to both Ms. Olson for planning and organizing the lesson and Mrs. Bart for her enthusiastic support of the collaboration.
Whether through activities like this, collaborative projects, or school-wide events, we are committed to fostering a culture of connection. These relationships are what make our school a thriving and supportive community for all.
