Plato Academy Clearwater Student Wins Drawing Contest Award

Clearwater, FL — Lukas Tzigos, a student at Plato Academy Clearwater, has been named a winner in the Antenna Satellite Drawing Contest 2024, an international competition organized by the Greek media channel ANT1. The contest, now in its 17th year, draws submissions from young artists around the world, including participants from North America, Europe, and Australia.

Lukas’ artwork was selected from hundreds of entries for its originality and execution, according to contest organizers. The annual competition seeks to celebrate creativity in children by featuring their holiday-themed drawings, songs, and carols on ANT1’s international platforms.

Recognition for Artistic Achievement

Plato Academy Clearwater administrators and teachers praised Lukas’ accomplishment, along with all the participants to the competition, emphasizing the importance of fostering creativity in education.

“We are very proud of Lukas and his recognition in this competition,” said Sara Sutera, the school’s principal. “A recognition like this one showcases the talent and dedication of our students, and their love for the Greek language nurtured by our outstanding Greek teachers.”

Contest organizers, in a letter to the school, expressed gratitude for its participation. “Thanks to your cooperation, children from around the world have been able to share their imagination and creativity with a global audience,” they wrote. The prize for Lukas’ winning entry was delivered to him at the school.

A Platform for Young Artists

The Antenna Satellite Drawing Contest offers children a rare opportunity to have their work featured internationally. This year’s entries reflected a diverse range of interpretations on holiday themes, showcasing the cultural and artistic perspectives of young participants.

Lukas’ award has been met with enthusiasm by his peers and teachers. At Plato Academy Clearwater, arts education is considered an integral part of the curriculum, providing students with the tools to develop both technical skills and creative thinking.
