A Deliciously Creative Classroom Activity

Poetry Tasting in Our Poetry Café

Last week, Ms. Harrison’s and Ms. Donnelly’s 4th graders classroom turned into a cozy Poetry Café for a memorable Poetry Tasting event! This fun activity combined the joy of reading poetry with the excitement of themed snacks, making literature come alive for our students.

What Students Gained

The Poetry Tasting was more than just fun—it was a valuable learning experience! Students analyzed poems, shared their thoughts, and even wrote mini-reviews. Pairing the poems with snacks added a sensory element, making the poetry even more memorable.

Why Activities Like These Matter

Creative activities like the Poetry Café make learning exciting and foster a deeper connection to literature. By combining reading with hands-on engagement, students develop their analytical and creative skills in an entertaining and engaging way.
