Plato Academy Pinellas Park recently hosted its highly anticipated “Donuts with Dad” event, bringing together students and their fathers for a morning of connection, conversation, and community. Held on February 7th, 2025, the event provided an opportunity for families to spend quality time together on campus before the start of the school day, enjoying fresh donuts and hot coffee in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The event was a tremendous success, with a fantastic turnout of fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who took time out of their busy schedules to participate reflecting the strong sense of community at Plato Academy, and reinforcing the value of family engagement in a child’s education.
“It was inspiring to see so many fathers here, taking an active role in their child’s school experience,” said Dr. Bob Pape, Principal of Plato Academy Pinellas Park. “Events like this remind us how important family involvement is to student success. The smiles, conversations, and shared moments were truly special.”
Beyond the breakfast treats, Donuts with Dad underscored the school’s commitment to fostering a strong connection between home and school. Research consistently shows that when families are actively involved in their child’s education, students benefit academically, socially, and emotionally. This event served as a perfect reminder of that bond.
As Plato Academy continues its tradition of engaging families through meaningful events, parents can look forward to more opportunities to connect with their children and the school community in the months ahead.
Thank you to all the families who made this event memorable. We appreciate your support and dedication to the Plato Academy community.
