TARPON SPRINGS – May 9, 2026. The annual ALL Plato Sports Awards ceremony recognized student-athletes across eight campuses for their dedication and achievement. The evening honored exceptional sports performance along with the values that define athletic excellence at Plato Academy.
“True athletic excellence at Plato Academy means succeeding on the field, in the classroom, and in building character that lasts a lifetime.”
Justin Davis, Director of Athletics
How are student-athletes balancing sports and academics at Plato Academy schools? Director of Athletics Justin Davis opened the ceremony with a reminder that true champions excel both on the field and in the classroom. This year’s honorees demonstrated that balance, with All-Academic Team members from multiple campuses earning recognition for their commitment to both athletic performance and scholarly achievement.
The awards recognized fall, winter, and spring sports champions, celebrated team MVPs, and announced Athletes of the Year. Plato Academy athletic programs emphasize character, alongside competition. Each honoree represented a commitment to teamwork, resilience, and personal growth.
In the end, the evening served less as a celebration of wins and losses and more as a quiet acknowledgment of the habits these student‑athletes have built over the year. Their consistency, their willingness to show up, and their ability to balance academic expectations with athletic demands stood out more than any single performance. As they move on to the next season, and for some, the next stage of their education, they carry with them a foundation shaped by routine, resilience, and the steady support of their school community.
Student Athlete Testimonials
Boys Basketball Player, Plato Academy
“Winning back-to-back championships doesn’t happen by accident. My teammates pushed me every single day in practice, and my coaches held us accountable academically too. Being named to the All-Academic Team this year meant more to me than any trophy because it shows I’m doing what matters most, balancing both sides of my life.
Girls Flag Football, Plato Academy
“I came to Plato Academy knowing I wanted to play football, but I didn’t expect the academic support I’d get. My teachers understood my practice schedule and guided me to keep my grades up. Being a student-athlete here means they actually care about developing you as a person, not just an athlete.
